Restore xlCompare on your PC
This topic describes common situation - you have to reinstall your Windows or change PC and need to restore working copy of the xlCompare.
The procedure is quite simple:
1. Download and install xlCompare. You can find download link here: Download xlCompare.
2. Activate it.
The standard Activation Procedure (described here How to activate xlCompare) may not work in this case.
Your account in the Spreadsheet Tools Customer Service has single Activation Key. Which is already used. So, if you try to activate xlCompare
by entering your e-mail and order ref# - this attempt should fail.
So, to restore your activation you should do the following:
If Computer Name of your PC was NOT CHANGED. You need to login to your account in the
Spreadsheet Tools Customer Service and go to the Activation Keys page.
You need to copy Activation Key created for your PC, and paste it into xlCompare. Use manual activation option for this.
If Computer Name of your PC was CHANGED. You need to login to your account in the
Spreadsheet Tools Customer Service and go to the Activation Keys page.
There is x button near every Activation Key. It removes activation from your account and restores Activation Key.
This procedure is similar to moving your xlCompare to another PC.
You need to remove Activation Key using x button. And after this you can activate xlCompare on the any new PC. You
can use on-line activation option for this.
